March 30 - Final Presentations will begin on Wednesday, 5 April

Look at the class schedule for the presentation order. Make sure that you tell your advisor.

Do not forget that on Monday, 3 April, there will be a presentation on posters

I still have not heard back from several groups telling me who their ‘Safety and work-space’ coordinator is.

I realize that several groups will not be done with everything (testing, etc) before their final talk. Present what you have done so far a nd what is to be competed before Design Day.

Here’s what I’d like to see in your final reprts, presentation, and poster:

Final reports

This is a presentation of your final product. It is a professional document intended for your sponsors/advisors.

Include:

  • Short introduction describing the purpose of your project and background.

  • Detailed description of the final product including pictures, drawings, etc.

  • Test results.

  • Performance results.

  • Problems – be honest, do not hide flaws or problems, they will come back and haunt you.

  • Cost results – several projects are products (or are contests requiring costs), how much will it cost to make, sell for, etc?

  • What still is required? Several projects are ongoing, what is to be done next by your team or next year’s team or others?

  • Who your sponsors/advisors are. Acknowledge sources of funding.

Do not include:

  • Fluff

  • Non-professional writing, figures, etc.

  • Anything illegal, unethical, unprofessional

Final Oral Presentation

Basically the same as the written but the information must be given in a 10 minute oral talk (5 minutes questions).

Make sure that those of your team who have not spoken in the previous talks present in this one.

Poster

Same information but in even a more concise format.

“March 1 - There will be 4 presentations on Monday and Wednesday’‘

Each team will select one member to be their ‘Safety and work-space’ coordinator. Please tell me who you choose. Thanks

February 22 - The order of the presentations has changed!!!! There will be 5 presentations per day.

February 17

  • The next presentation will on your delivery status. Give your orginal list of deliverables and your orginal schedule. Discuss any problems that you have with those deliverables and schedule. Discuss your contingency plan to address those problems. Give your final deliverables and schedule. You will be held to your final plan when you present your final report.
  • I will give you the list of presentation dates as your advisors/sponsors should be there if they can.
  • People who did not present the first talk will present this one, the only exception will be for small groups where everyone has already presented.

  • Take a look at the Wiki Stats button at the bottom of the page template and see whose pages are popular, etc…

  • Your final reports from M E4000 are graded and outside Prof. Provancher’s office (2120 MEB). There is feedback written on them that will be helpfull to many. However, reports and old labs that have not been picked up by Friday 1/20 will be thrown out.
