Lab 0 reference documents

The main goal of this lab is to provide some fundamental for sketching in perspective.

  • Lab 0 Assignment (download and print out for lab)
  • Lab 0 Supporting Material (download and print out for lab)
  • Need Finding (look at online before coming to lab)
  • How to draw more human like figures (read after lab if interested)
  • Prototyping with foam-core (read after lab if interested)

  • Lab starts this Thursday/Friday (9/1/05 & 9/2/05 and will meet in EMCB 102.
    • For the first lab (lab 0) you’ll be doing some drawing & sketching & will need:
      • A pencil
      • A black marker or pen (for reinforcing the \”good\” lines and shading)
      • Plenty of blank paper, preperably a spiral bound artists pad (8 1/2\” x 11\” or larger).
      • As preparation for Lab0, download and look at the handout on Need Finding (from my old notebooks). It gives examples of idea generation, mind maps (brain storming), and thumbnail sketches (note that when you are brain storming, you need not be serious or realistic).
